Tulathromycin 10% Injection


Composition

Each ml contains:

  • Tulathromycin .................................. 100 mg

  • Excipients ........................................ q.s. to 1 ml

Sterile injectable solution.


Therapeutic Class

Macrolide antibiotic (triamilide).


Indications

TULANOR 10 is indicated for the treatment and control of respiratory infections caused by microorganisms susceptible to tulathromycin, including:

  • Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD)

  • Ovine respiratory infections

  • Foot rot associated bacterial infections

  • Secondary bacterial infections

Effective against Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Histophilus somni and Mycoplasma spp.

Mechanism of Action

Tulathromycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, providing rapid onset and long-acting antibacterial activity, with excellent lung tissue penetration.


Dosage & Administration

Cattle, Sheep, Goats & Camels:

  • 2.5 mg Tulathromycin/kg body weight

  • (Equivalent to 1 ml per 40 kg body weight)

Route of Administration:

  • Subcutaneous (SC) (preferred)

  • Intramuscular (IM) (where applicable)

Single-dose therapy in most cases.


Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to macrolide antibiotics

  • Do not use concurrently with other macrolides or lincosamides


Side Effects

  • Mild transient swelling at injection site

  • Rare hypersensitivity reactions


Withdrawal Period (indicative – subject to local regulations)

  • Meat:

    • Cattle: 22–30 days

    • Sheep & Goats: 18–22 days

  • Milk:

    • Not permitted for use in lactating animals producing milk for human consumption


Storage Conditions

  • Store below 25°C

  • Protect from light

  • Do not freeze
