Tilmicosin 30% Injection


Composition

Each ml contains:

  • Tilmicosin (as phosphate) ............. 300 mg

  • Excipients ........................................ q.s. to 1 ml

Sterile injectable solution.


Therapeutic Class

Macrolide antibiotic – Long-acting.


Indications

TILMONOR 30 is indicated for the treatment of respiratory infections caused by Tilmicosin-susceptible microorganisms, including:

  • Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD)

  • Pneumonia

  • Pasteurellosis

  • Mannheimiosis

  • Mycoplasma infections


Target Species

  • Cattle

  • Sheep

  • Goats

  • Camels

⚠️ Not for use in horses.


Mechanism of Action

Tilmicosin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, providing prolonged antibacterial activity in lung tissue.


Dosage & Administration

Cattle, Sheep, Goats & Camels:

  • 10 mg Tilmicosin/kg body weight

  • (Equivalent to 1 ml per 30 kg body weight)

Route of Administration:

  • Subcutaneous (SC) only

⚠️ DO NOT administer intravenously or intramuscularly.

Usually administered as a single dose.


Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to macrolide antibiotics

  • Contraindicated in horses (fatal toxicity)

  • Do not use intravenously

  • Do not use in lactating animals producing milk for human consumption


Side Effects

  • Transient swelling at injection site

  • Rare cardiovascular effects if improperly administered


Withdrawal Period (indicative – subject to local regulations)

  • Meat:

    • Cattle: 28–35 days

    • Sheep & Goats: 42 days

  • Milk:

    • Not permitted for use in lactating animals

  • Store below 25°C

  • Protect from light

  • Do not freeze
