Retardonor Injection


Description

Retardonor Injection is a long‑acting corticosteroid formulation containing Triamcinolone acetonide. It is designed to provide sustained anti‑inflammatory and anti‑allergic effects in veterinary practice, particularly in chronic inflammatory and musculoskeletal conditions, under strict veterinary supervision.


Formulation

Each 100 ml contains:

  • Triamcinolone acetonide ............ 0.2 g


Pharmacological Class

Corticosteroid – Long‑acting anti‑inflammatory and immunosuppressive agent.


Indications

Retardonor Injection is indicated for:

  • Chronic inflammatory conditions

  • Musculoskeletal and joint disorders

  • Arthritis and osteoarthritis

  • Allergic and hypersensitivity reactions

  • Dermatological conditions of inflammatory origin

  • Long‑term control of inflammation where sustained corticosteroid action is required


Mechanism of Action

Triamcinolone acetonide is a synthetic glucocorticoid with potent and prolonged anti‑inflammatory activity. It inhibits the release of inflammatory mediators, reduces capillary permeability, and suppresses immune cell migration, resulting in sustained relief from pain, swelling, and inflammation.


Dosage and Administration

  • The dose and frequency of administration must be determined only by a licensed veterinarian, according to the animal species, body weight, and severity of the condition.

  • Administer by intramuscular (IM) or intra‑articular injection as directed by the veterinarian.

  • Shake well before use.


Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to triamcinolone acetonide or any excipients

  • Systemic viral or fungal infections unless appropriate therapy is instituted

  • Animals with severe renal impairment or uncontrolled diabetes mellitus

  • Use with caution during pregnancy and lactation


Warnings and Precautions

  • Prolonged use may cause adrenal suppression and immunosuppression

  • Avoid sudden withdrawal after long‑term therapy

  • Do not use concurrently with live vaccines

  • Observe withdrawal periods for food‑producing animals, where applicable

  • Use strictly under veterinary supervision


Adverse Reactions

Possible adverse reactions may include:

  • Increased susceptibility to infections

  • Delayed wound healing

  • Polyuria, polydipsia, and polyphagia

  • Hormonal imbalance with prolonged or repeated use

If adverse reactions occur, discontinue use and consult a veterinarian.
