Description

Predinor Injection is a corticosteroid injectable suspension containing Prednisolone acetate 10 mg/ml. It is indicated for veterinary use to control inflammatory and allergic conditions, suppress immune-mediated responses, and provide supportive therapy in a variety of clinical conditions, under strict veterinary supervision.


Composition

Each ml contains:

  • Prednisolone acetate: 10 mg

  • Suitable sterile excipients q.s.


Pharmacological Class

Corticosteroid – Anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and immunosuppressive agent.


Indications

Predinor Injection is indicated for the treatment of:

  • Acute and chronic inflammatory conditions

  • Allergic and hypersensitivity reactions

  • Musculoskeletal and joint disorders

  • Skin diseases of inflammatory origin

  • Shock and stress-related conditions (supportive therapy)

  • Respiratory inflammatory conditions


Mechanism of Action

Prednisolone is a synthetic glucocorticoid that exerts potent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects. It inhibits the formation of inflammatory mediators, reduces capillary permeability, and suppresses immune cell activity, resulting in rapid relief of inflammation, swelling, and pain.


Dosage and Administration

  • The dosage and duration of treatment must be determined only by a licensed veterinarian, based on the animal species, body weight, and severity of the condition.

  • Administer by intramuscular (IM) or intra-articular injection as directed by the veterinarian.

  • Shake well before use.


Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to prednisolone or any of the excipients

  • Viral or fungal infections unless appropriate therapy is instituted

  • Animals suffering from severe renal impairment or uncontrolled diabetes

  • Use with caution during pregnancy


Warnings and Precautions

  • Prolonged or repeated use may result in adrenal suppression and immunosuppression

  • Avoid sudden withdrawal after long-term therapy

  • Do not use concurrently with live vaccines

  • Observe withdrawal periods for food-producing animals, where applicable

  • Use strictly under veterinary supervision


Adverse Reactions

Possible adverse reactions may include:

  • Increased susceptibility to infections

  • Delayed wound healing

  • Gastrointestinal disturbances

  • Hormonal imbalance with prolonged use

If adverse reactions occur, discontinue use and consult a veterinarian.
