Composition

Each ml contains:
Procaine Penicillin G ............................. 300,000 IU
Excipients ................................................. q.s. to 1 ml


Pharmaceutical Form

Sterile injectable suspension for veterinary use.


Therapeutic Class

β-lactam antibiotic (Penicillin group).


Indications

PENOR-P® Injection is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by penicillin-sensitive microorganisms, including:

  • Respiratory tract infections

  • Mastitis

  • Metritis

  • Skin and soft tissue infections

  • Foot rot

  • Wound and post-operative infections

  • Septicemia


Target Species

  • Cattle

  • Sheep

  • Goats

  • Camels

  • Horses

  • Dogs (according to veterinary judgment)


Mechanism of Action

Procaine penicillin G inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bactericidal activity against Gram-positive bacteria and selected Gram-negative organisms.


Dosage & Administration

For intramuscular (IM) injection only.

  • General dosage:
    10,000–20,000 IU/kg body weight
    Once daily for 3–5 days

📌 Shake well before use.
📌 Duration of treatment depends on severity and clinical response.


Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to penicillins or β-lactam antibiotics

  • Do not administer intravenously

  • Avoid use in animals with known allergic reactions to penicillin


Side Effects

  • Local injection site reactions

  • Allergic reactions (rare but may be severe)

⚠️ In case of hypersensitivity reactions, discontinue use immediately.


Withdrawal Period

(Indicative – subject to local regulations)

  • Meat:
    Cattle, sheep & goats: 7–10 days

  • Milk:
    3–5 days


Special Warnings

  • Use only after proper diagnosis

  • Observe antimicrobial stewardship principles

  • Do not mix with other injectable products


Storage Conditions

  • Store below 25°C

  • Protect from light

  • Do not freeze

  • Keep out of reach of children


Shelf Life

  • 24 months from date of manufacture

  • Use within 28 days after first opening
