Description
NorMec Super Injection is a broad-spectrum antiparasitic injectable solution combining ivermectin and clorsulon for the effective treatment and control of internal and external parasites, including liver flukes, in cattle under veterinary supervision.
Pharmacological Class
Endectocide (Macrocyclic lactone) + Flukicide.
Indications
NorMec Super Injection is indicated for:
Gastrointestinal roundworms
Lungworms
Grubs and warbles
Mange mites
Lice
Adult liver flukes (Fasciola hepatica)
Mechanism of Action
Ivermectin binds to glutamate-gated chloride channels in parasites causing paralysis and death.
Clorsulon inhibits glycolytic enzymes in liver flukes, disrupting energy metabolism and leading to parasite elimination.
Dosage and Administration
Administer by subcutaneous injection only.
The dosage must be determined by a licensed veterinarian based on body weight.
Use proper sterile technique.
Contraindications
Do not use in animals hypersensitive to ivermectin or clorsulon.
Not for intravenous or intramuscular use unless otherwise directed.
Not recommended for use in lactating dairy cows where milk is intended for human consumption.
Warnings and Precautions
Observe withdrawal periods for meat and milk.
Avoid underdosing to prevent resistance development.
Use according to veterinary guidance and parasite control programs.
