INDICATIONS
GENTANOR®
Injection is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by gentamicin-sensitive microorganisms in cattle, sheep, goats, horses, and dogs, including:
Respiratory tract infections
Gastrointestinal infections
Urinary tract infections
Septicemia
Metritis
Mastitis (systemic treatment)
Skin and soft tissue infections
Post-operative infections
Effective against Gram-negative bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella, Klebsiella, Pasteurella and some Gram-positive organisms.
MECHANISM OF ACTION
Gentamicin is a bactericidal aminoglycoside antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, leading to rapid bacterial cell death.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Route: Intramuscular (IM) or Intravenous (IV)
Cattle, Sheep & Goats:
1 ml per 20 kg body weight
(Equivalent to 5 mg gentamicin/kg b.w.)Horses:
1 ml per 25 kg body weightDogs:
1 ml per 20–25 kg body weight
🔁 Treatment duration: 3–5 days or as directed by the veterinarian.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not use in animals with renal impairment.
Do not use in cases of known hypersensitivity to aminoglycosides.
Do not administer concurrently with other nephrotoxic drugs.
WARNINGS & PRECAUTIONS
Prolonged use may cause nephrotoxicity or ototoxicity.
Ensure adequate hydration during treatment.
Use with caution in young or debilitated animals.
