Nitroxinil 34% Injection


Composition

Each ml contains:

  • Nitroxinil ........................................ 340 mg

  • Excipients ........................................ q.s. to 1 ml

Sterile injectable solution.


Therapeutic Class

Anthelmintic – Fasciolicide.


Indications

NITRONOR 34 is indicated for the treatment and control of liver fluke infections (Fascioliasis) caused by Fasciola hepatica and Fasciola gigantica, including adult and late immature stages, in:

  • Cattle

  • Sheep

  • Goats

It is also effective against certain blood-sucking gastrointestinal nematodes, contributing to improved health and productivity.


Mechanism of Action

Nitroxinil acts by uncoupling oxidative phosphorylation in parasites, leading to energy depletion and parasite death, particularly effective against flukes with high metabolic activity.


Dosage & Administration

  • Cattle:
    10 mg Nitroxinil/kg body weight
    (Equivalent to 3 ml per 100 kg body weight)

  • Sheep & Goats:
    10 mg Nitroxinil/kg body weight
    (Equivalent to 3 ml per 100 kg body weight)

Route of Administration:

  • Subcutaneous injection (SC)

⚠️ Dosage may be adjusted according to veterinary advice and severity of infection.


Contraindications

  • Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to Nitroxinil

  • Not recommended for severely debilitated or stressed animals


Side Effects

  • Temporary swelling at injection site

  • Rare cases of transient discomfort

If adverse reactions occur, consult a veterinarian immediately.


Withdrawal Period

  • Meat:

    • Cattle: 60 days

    • Sheep & Goats: 49 days

  • Milk:

    • Not permitted for use in lactating animals producing milk for human consumption


Storage Conditions

  • Store below 25°C

  • Protect from light

  • Do not freeze

  • Keep out of reach of children
