(Naproxen Injectable Solution)


Description

NaproVet Injection is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) formulated for veterinary use. It contains Naproxen and is indicated for the management of pain, inflammation, and fever associated with musculoskeletal disorders and inflammatory conditions in animals, under veterinary supervision.


Composition

Each ml contains:

  • Naproxen: (equivalent to declared strength)

  • Sterile injectable vehicle q.s.


Pharmacological Class

Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID).


Indications

NaproVet Injection is indicated for:

  • Musculoskeletal pain and inflammation

  • Arthritis and joint disorders

  • Soft tissue injuries

  • Post-operative pain and inflammation

  • Fever associated with inflammatory conditions


Mechanism of Action

Naproxen inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, leading to reduced synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain, inflammation, and fever. This results in effective analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic action.


Dosage and Administration

  • Dosage and duration of treatment must be determined only by a licensed veterinarian, based on animal species, body weight, and clinical condition.

  • Administer by intramuscular (IM) or intravenous (IV) injection as recommended by the veterinarian.


Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to naproxen or other NSAIDs

  • Animals with gastrointestinal ulceration or bleeding

  • Severe hepatic, renal, or cardiac disorders

  • Use in dehydrated or hypotensive animals unless corrected


Warnings and Precautions

  • Do not use concurrently with other NSAIDs or corticosteroids

  • Prolonged use may increase the risk of gastrointestinal or renal adverse effects

  • Observe withdrawal periods for food-producing animals, where applicable

  • Use strictly under veterinary supervision


Adverse Reactions

Possible adverse reactions include:

  • Gastrointestinal irritation or ulceration

  • Reduced appetite

  • Renal function impairment with prolonged use

Discontinue treatment and consult a veterinarian if adverse reactions occur.
