Each ml contains:

• Metamizole sodium monohydrate .......... 500 mg

Description

MetazoNor 50 Injection is a potent non-opioid analgesic, antipyretic, and spasmolytic injectable solution containing metamizole sodium.
It is indicated for the rapid relief of pain, fever, and smooth muscle spasms in livestock, particularly in acute and painful conditions.

Pharmacological Properties

Pharmacodynamic Properties

Metamizole exerts analgesic and antipyretic effects by inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis and modulation of pain pathways.
It also possesses spasmolytic activity on smooth muscles, making it especially effective in colic and visceral pain.

Pharmacokinetic Properties

Following intramuscular or intravenous administration, metamizole is rapidly metabolized to active metabolites and widely distributed in body tissues.
Elimination occurs primarily via renal excretion.

Indications

• Acute and severe pain

• Colic and visceral spasms

• Pyrexia (fever) of infectious or non-infectious origin

• Musculoskeletal pain

• Post-operative pain

• Supportive treatment in inflammatory conditions

Dosage & Administration

• Route: Intramuscular (IM) or Intravenous (IV)

• Dosage:
  As directed by the veterinarian according to species, body weight, and severity of condition

• May be repeated if necessary under veterinary supervision

Target Species

• Cattle

• Horses

• Sheep

• Goats

• Calves

• Other susceptible livestock

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to metamizole or pyrazolone derivatives

• Severe hepatic or renal impairment

• Use in animals with known blood dyscrasias

Adverse Reactions

• Rare hypersensitivity reactions

• Injection site reactions

• Transient hypotension (especially with rapid IV administration)

If adverse reactions occur, discontinue use and consult a veterinarian.

Withdrawal Period

• Meat: As per local veterinary regulations

• Milk: As per local veterinary regulations

Storage

• Store below 25°C

• Protect from light

• Do not freeze

• Keep vial tightly closed

Precautions

• For veterinary use only

• Administer slowly when given intravenously

• Do not exceed recommended dosage

• Use under veterinary supervision
