COMPOSITION

Each mL contains:
Meloxicam ……………………………………… 5 mg
Excipients ………………………………………… q.s. to 1 mL


PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASS

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic properties.


INDICATIONS

MELOVET® is indicated for the treatment and control of pain, inflammation, and fever associated with:

  • Musculoskeletal disorders

  • Acute and chronic inflammatory conditions

  • Respiratory diseases associated with fever

  • Post-operative pain and inflammation

  • Mastitis (supportive therapy)

  • Lameness and joint disorders

in cattle, camels, horses, sheep, goats, dogs, and cats, as directed by a veterinarian.


DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

For intramuscular, intravenous, or subcutaneous injection, depending on species and veterinary advice.

Cattle & Camels:

  • 0.5 mg meloxicam per kg body weight
    (Single dose or as directed)

Sheep & Goats:

  • 0.5 mg per kg body weight
    (Single dose)

Horses:

  • 0.6 mg per kg body weight
    (Single daily dose)

Dogs & Cats:

  • Initial dose: 0.2 mg per kg body weight

  • Maintenance dose: 0.1 mg per kg body weight

⚠️ Duration of treatment should be kept as short as possible.


CONTRAINDICATIONS

  • Hypersensitivity to meloxicam or other NSAIDs

  • Gastrointestinal ulceration or bleeding

  • Severe hepatic, renal, or cardiac impairment

  • Dehydrated, hypovolemic, or hypotensive animals

  • Do not use concurrently with other NSAIDs or corticosteroids


ADVERSE REACTIONS

  • Gastrointestinal disturbances (vomiting, diarrhea)

  • Local irritation at injection site

  • Rare renal or hepatic adverse effects with prolonged use

  • Hypersensitivity reactions (rare)


WITHDRAWAL PERIOD

  • Meat: 15 days

  • Milk: 5 days

(Withdrawal periods may vary according to national regulations.)


PRECAUTIONS & WARNINGS

  • Ensure adequate hydration before and during treatment

  • Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration

  • Avoid use in young, old, or debilitated animals without veterinary supervision

  • Discontinue treatment if adverse reactions occur

  • Store below 25°C

  • Protect from light

  • Do not freeze

  • Keep container tightly closed

  • Keep out of reach of children
