Marbofloxacin 10% Injection


Composition

Each ml contains:

  • Marbofloxacin ................................. 100 mg

  • Excipients ........................................ q.s. to 1 ml

Sterile injectable solution.


Therapeutic Class

Fluoroquinolone antibiotic.


Indications

MARBONOR 10 is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by Gram-positive, Gram-negative bacteria and Mycoplasma susceptible to Marbofloxacin, including:

  • Respiratory tract infections

  • Pneumonia

  • Mastitis

  • Metritis

  • Skin and soft tissue infections

  • Urinary tract infections

  • Septicemia


Target Species

  • Cattle

  • Sheep

  • Goats

  • Camels


Mechanism of Action

Marbofloxacin inhibits DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, preventing bacterial DNA replication and resulting in rapid bactericidal activity.
It provides excellent tissue penetration and prolonged activity.


Dosage & Administration

Cattle, Sheep, Goats & Camels:

  • 2 mg Marbofloxacin/kg body weight

  • (Equivalent to 1 ml per 50 kg body weight)

Route of Administration:

  • Intramuscular (IM)

  • Subcutaneous (SC)

Treatment duration: 3–5 days, or as directed by the veterinarian.


Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolones

  • Do not use in growing animals where cartilage development may be affected

  • Do not use in animals producing milk for human consumption


Side Effects

  • Mild pain or swelling at injection site

  • Rare hypersensitivity reactions


Withdrawal Period (indicative – subject to local regulations)

  • Meat:

    • Cattle: 6–10 days

    • Sheep & Goats: 5–7 days

  • Milk:

    • Not permitted for use in lactating animals


Storage Conditions

  • Store below 25°C

  • Protect from light

  • Do not freeze
