Ivermectin & Praziquantel Oral Antiparasitic Paste


Composition

Each gram contains:
Ivermectin ........................................ 15.5 mg
Praziquantel ..................................... 77.5 mg
Excipients ........................................ q.s. to 1 g


Pharmaceutical Form

Oral paste in calibrated dosing syringe for veterinary use.


Therapeutic Class

Broad-spectrum antiparasitic
(Macrocyclic lactone + Isoquinoline-pyrazine).


Indications

IVERPRAZ-NOR® Oral Paste is indicated for the treatment and control of internal parasitic infestations, including:

Nematodes (Roundworms)

  • Strongylus spp.

  • Parascaris equorum

  • Oxyuris equi

  • Trichonema spp.

Cestodes (Tapeworms)

  • Anoplocephala perfoliata

  • Anoplocephala magna

Other Parasites

  • Bots (Gasterophilus spp.)

  • Lungworms


Target Species

  • Horses


Mechanism of Action

  • Ivermectin binds to glutamate-gated chloride channels in parasites, causing paralysis and death.

  • Praziquantel increases cell membrane permeability to calcium ions in tapeworms, leading to rapid parasite disintegration.

The combination provides complete internal parasite control, including tapeworms.


Dosage & Administration

For oral administration only.

Horses

  • 1 g paste per 100 kg body weight
    (Equivalent to 200 mcg ivermectin + 1 mg praziquantel/kg body weight)

  • Single oral dose

📌 Set syringe to correct body weight before dosing.
📌 Administer into the mouth over the tongue.
📌 Do not underdose.


Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to ivermectin or praziquantel

  • Do not use in foals under 2 weeks of age

  • Avoid use in severely debilitated animals


Side Effects

  • Generally well tolerated

  • Rare mild transient swelling of lips or oral cavity

  • Transient lethargy in heavily parasitized animals


Withdrawal Period

  • Meat:
    Horses not intended for human consumption


Special Warnings

  • Accurate dosing is essential

  • Resistance management programs are recommended

  • Do not use simultaneously with other macrocyclic lactones


Storage Conditions

  • Store below 25°C

  • Protect from light

  • Do not freeze

  • Keep out of reach of children


Shelf Life

  • 24 months from date of manufacture

  • Use immediately after opening syringe
