Ivermectin 1% Injection


Composition

Each ml contains:

  • Ivermectin ........................................ 10 mg

  • Excipients ........................................ q.s. to 1 ml

Sterile injectable solution.


Therapeutic Class

Endectocide – Antiparasitic (Avermectin group).


Indications

IVER-NOR 1 is indicated for the treatment and control of internal and external parasites sensitive to ivermectin, including:

Gastrointestinal nematodes:

  • Ostertagia spp.

  • Haemonchus spp.

  • Trichostrongylus spp.

  • Cooperia spp.

  • Bunostomum spp.

Lungworms:

  • Dictyocaulus spp.

Ectoparasites:

  • Lice

  • Mange mites

  • Grubs

  • Nasal bots


Target Species

  • Cattle

  • Sheep

  • Goats

  • Camels


Mechanism of Action

Ivermectin binds selectively to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels in nerve and muscle cells of parasites, causing paralysis and death.


Dosage & Administration

Cattle & Camels:

  • 0.2 mg ivermectin/kg body weight

  • (Equivalent to 1 ml per 50 kg body weight)

Sheep & Goats:

  • 0.2 mg ivermectin/kg body weight

  • (Equivalent to 0.5 ml per 25 kg body weight)

Route of Administration:

  • Subcutaneous injection (SC)


Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to ivermectin

  • Do not use in lactating animals producing milk for human consumption

  • Not for intravenous or intramuscular use


Side Effects

  • Mild and transient swelling at injection site

  • Rare hypersensitivity reactions


Withdrawal Period (indicative – subject to local regulations)

  • Meat:

    • Cattle & Camels: 28 days

    • Sheep & Goats: 21 days

  • Milk:

    • Not permitted


Storage Conditions

  • Store below 25°C

  • Protect from light

  • Do not freeze
