Isoflonor Injection


Description

Isoflonor Injection is a potent corticosteroid preparation containing Isoflupredone acetate. It is intended for veterinary use to provide rapid and effective anti‑inflammatory, anti‑allergic, and anti‑edematous effects, particularly in acute inflammatory and metabolic stress conditions, under strict veterinary supervision.

Indications

Isoflonor Injection is indicated for:

  • Acute inflammatory conditions

  • Allergic and hypersensitivity reactions

  • Musculoskeletal and joint inflammation

  • Ketosis and metabolic stress conditions (as adjunct therapy)

  • Shock and stress‑related disorders

  • Reduction of edema and inflammatory swelling


Mechanism of Action

Isoflupredone acetate is a synthetic glucocorticoid that suppresses inflammatory mediator release, reduces capillary permeability, and modulates immune responses. It provides rapid relief from inflammation, pain, and swelling while supporting metabolic stability during stress conditions.


Dosage and Administration

  • Dosage and treatment schedule must be determined only by a licensed veterinarian, according to animal species, body weight, and severity of the condition.

  • Administer by intramuscular (IM) or intravenous (IV) injection as directed by the veterinarian.


Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to isoflupredone acetate or any excipients

  • Systemic viral or fungal infections unless appropriate therapy is instituted

  • Animals with severe renal impairment or uncontrolled diabetes mellitus

  • Use with caution during pregnancy and lactation


Warnings and Precautions

  • Prolonged or repeated use may cause adrenal suppression and immunosuppression

  • Avoid sudden withdrawal after long‑term therapy

  • Do not use concurrently with live vaccines

  • Observe withdrawal periods for food‑producing animals, where applicable

  • Use strictly under veterinary supervision


Adverse Reactions

Possible adverse reactions may include:

  • Increased susceptibility to infections

  • Delayed wound healing

  • Polyuria, polydipsia, and polyphagia

  • Gastrointestinal disturbances
