Iron 10% & Vitamin B12 Injection


Composition

Each ml contains:

  • Iron (as iron dextran) ................. 100 mg

  • Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) ..... 100 μg

  • Excipients ........................................ q.s. to 1 ml

Sterile injectable solution.


Therapeutic Class

Hematopoietic agent (Anti-anemic).


Indications

IRONOR B12 is indicated for the prevention and treatment of iron and vitamin B12 deficiency anemia, especially in young animals, including:

  • Nutritional anemia

  • Iron deficiency anemia in newborns

  • Weakness, poor growth, and reduced vitality

  • Supportive therapy during stress, illness, and recovery

  • Lambs

  • Kids

  • Piglets

  • Cattle, Sheep & Goats


Mechanism of Action

  • Iron dextran supplies bioavailable iron essential for hemoglobin synthesis and red blood cell formation.

  • Vitamin B12 supports erythropoiesis, nucleic acid synthesis, and overall metabolic activity.

The combination ensures rapid correction of anemia and improved growth performance.


Dosage & Administration

Calves:

  • 3–5 ml per animal, single dose or as directed

Lambs & Kids:

  • 1–2 ml per animal

Piglets:

  • 1–2 ml per animal

Route of Administration:

  • Intramuscular (IM)

  • Subcutaneous (SC)

⚠️ Dosage may be adjusted according to veterinary advice.


Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to iron preparations

  • Do not use in animals with iron overload conditions


Side Effects

  • Temporary discoloration at injection site

  • Rare hypersensitivity reactions


Withdrawal Period

  • Meat: Nil

  • Milk: Nil


Storage Conditions

  • Store below 25°C

  • Protect from light

  • Do not freeze
