Flumethanor Injection


Description

Flumethanor Injection is a corticosteroid injectable solution containing Flumetasone 0.5 mg/ml. It is intended for veterinary use to provide potent anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects in a wide range of conditions, including musculoskeletal, respiratory, and allergic disorders, under strict veterinary supervision.


Composition

Each ml contains:

  • Flumetasone ............... 0.5 mg

  • Suitable sterile excipients q.s.


Pharmacological Class

Corticosteroid – Anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and immunosuppressive agent.


Indications

Flumethanor Injection is indicated for the treatment of:

  • Acute and chronic inflammatory conditions

  • Allergic and hypersensitivity reactions

  • Musculoskeletal and joint disorders

  • Respiratory inflammatory diseases

  • Dermatological conditions of inflammatory origin

  • Shock and stress-related conditions (supportive therapy)


Mechanism of Action

Flumetasone is a synthetic glucocorticoid with strong anti-inflammatory activity. It suppresses the release of inflammatory mediators, reduces capillary permeability, and inhibits immune cell migration, resulting in rapid relief from inflammation, swelling, and pain.


Dosage and Administration

  • The dosage and duration of treatment must be determined only by a licensed veterinarian, based on the animal species, body weight, and severity of the condition.

  • Administer by intramuscular (IM) or intravenous (IV) injection as directed by the veterinarian.


Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to flumetasone or any of the excipients

  • Systemic viral or fungal infections unless appropriate therapy is instituted

  • Animals with severe renal impairment or uncontrolled diabetes mellitus

  • Use with caution during pregnancy and lactation


Warnings and Precautions

  • Prolonged or repeated use may cause adrenal suppression and immunosuppression

  • Avoid sudden withdrawal after long-term therapy

  • Do not use concurrently with live vaccines

  • Observe withdrawal periods for food-producing animals, where applicable

  • Use strictly under veterinary supervision


Adverse Reactions

Possible adverse reactions may include:

  • Increased susceptibility to infections

  • Delayed wound healing

  • Polyuria, polydipsia, and polyphagia

  • Gastrointestinal disturbances

If adverse reactions occur, discontinue use and consult a veterinarian.
