Indications
FLORNOR® 10 Oral Liquid is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by florfenicol-sensitive microorganisms, including:
Respiratory tract infections
Chronic respiratory disease (CRD)
Pasteurellosis
Colibacillosis (E. coli)
Salmonellosis
Enteritis
Secondary bacterial infections
Target Species
Poultry (broilers, breeders)
Calves
Lambs & kids
⚠️ Use in laying birds producing eggs for human consumption according to local regulations.
Mechanism of Action
Florfenicol inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, resulting in a bacteriostatic to bactericidal effect against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including Pasteurella, E. coli, and Salmonella species.
Dosage & Administration
For oral administration via drinking water or direct oral dosing.
Poultry
10–20 mg florfenicol/kg body weight/day
(Equivalent to 100–200 mg per liter of drinking water)
for 3–5 consecutive days
Calves, Sheep & Goats
10–20 mg florfenicol/kg body weight
Once daily for 3–5 days
📌 Ensure medicated water is the only source of drinking water during treatment.
📌 Shake well before use.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to florfenicol
Do not use in animals intended for human consumption unless approved
Avoid prolonged or unnecessary use
