Composition

Each ml contains:
Colistin sulfate ................................. 1,200,000 IU
Enrofloxacin ........................................ 100 mg
Excipients ............................................. q.s. to 1 ml

Indications

ENROCOL-NOR® Oral Liquid is indicated for the treatment of bacterial gastrointestinal and respiratory infections caused by susceptible microorganisms, including:

• Colibacillosis (E. coli)

• Salmonellosis

• Enteritis

• Chronic respiratory disease (CRD)

• Pasteurellosis

• Mixed Gram-negative bacterial infections

Target Species

• Poultry (broilers, layers, breeders)

• Calves

• Lambs

• Kids

Mechanism of Action

• Enrofloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, resulting in rapid bactericidal activity.

• Colistin disrupts bacterial cell membrane integrity, especially against Gram-negative bacteria.

The combination provides rapid, synergistic, and broad-spectrum antibacterial action, particularly in enteric infections.

Dosage & Administration

For oral administration via drinking water or direct oral dosing.

Poultry

• 10 mg enrofloxacin/kg body weight
  (Equivalent to 1 ml per 10 kg body weight)
  For 3–5 consecutive days

Calves, Sheep & Goats

• 1 ml per 10–15 kg body weight
  Once daily for 3–5 days

📌 Ensure medicated water is the only source of drinking water during treatment.
📌 Shake well before use.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolones or colistin

• Do not use in animals with known renal impairment

• Avoid use in layers producing eggs for human consumption unless permitted by local regulations

Side Effects

• Generally well tolerated

• Rare digestive disturbances

• Prolonged use may affect intestinal flora

Withdrawal Period

(Indicative – subject to local regulations)

• Meat:
  Poultry: 7–10 days
  Ruminants: 7–10 days

• Eggs:
  Not approved for use in laying birds producing eggs for human consumption

Special Warnings

• Use only when sensitivity testing indicates benefit

• Avoid unnecessary or prolonged use

• Observe antimicrobial stewardship principles
