Each ml contains:
Colistin sulfate ................................. 200,000 IU
Trimethoprim .................................... 50 mg
Excipients ........................................ q.s. to 1 ml

Indications

COLTRINOR® Oral Solution is indicated for the treatment of gastrointestinal and systemic infections caused by susceptible bacteria, including:

• Colibacillosis (E. coli)

• Salmonellosis

• Enteritis and diarrhea

• Bacterial septicemia

• Mixed Gram-negative bacterial infections

Target Species

• Poultry

• Calves

• Lambs

• Kids

• Camels (according to veterinary judgment)

Mechanism of Action

• Colistin disrupts bacterial cell membrane permeability, especially against Gram-negative bacteria.

• Trimethoprim inhibits bacterial folic acid synthesis.

The combination provides synergistic bactericidal activity, particularly effective against enteric pathogens.

Dosage & Administration

For oral administration only.

General dosage

• 1 ml per 10 kg body weight, once daily

Poultry

• Administer via drinking water for 3–5 consecutive days

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to colistin or trimethoprim

• Renal impairment

• Do not use concurrently with other nephrotoxic drugs

Side Effects

• Generally well tolerated

• Rare nephrotoxicity with prolonged or excessive use

Withdrawal Period

(Indicative – subject to local regulations)

• Meat:
  Poultry & livestock: 3–7 days

• Eggs:
  Not recommended for laying birds producing eggs for human consumption

Special Warnings

• Avoid under-dosing to prevent resistance

• Ensure adequate hydration

• Use under veterinary supervision

• Follow antimicrobial stewardship guidelines
