Composition

Each ml contains:
Closantel (as sodium dihydrate) .................................... 50 mg
Excipients ................................................................. q.s. to 1 ml


Pharmaceutical Form

Sterile injectable solution for veterinary use.


Indications

Closanex® 5% Injection is indicated for the treatment and control of parasitic infestations caused by closantel-sensitive parasites in livestock, including:

  • Liver flukes (Fasciola hepatica and Fasciola gigantica – adult and immature stages)

  • Blood-sucking gastrointestinal nematodes, especially Haemonchus spp.

  • Ectoparasites, including:

    • Lice

    • Ticks

    • Nasal bots (Oestrus ovis)


Target Species

  • Cattle

  • Sheep

  • Goats

  • Camels (where permitted by local veterinary regulations)


Dosage and Administration

For subcutaneous injection.

  • Cattle:
    1 ml per 20 kg body weight (equivalent to 2.5 mg closantel/kg BW)

  • Sheep & Goats:
    1 ml per 20 kg body weight

  • Camels:
    Use according to veterinary judgment.

⚠️ Dosage may be adjusted based on severity of infestation and veterinary advice.


Contraindications

  • Do not use in animals hypersensitive to closantel.

  • Not recommended for animals in poor health unless advised by a veterinarian.

  • Do not use in animals producing milk for human consumption.


Withdrawal Period

  • Meat:
    Cattle: 28 days
    Sheep & Goats: 28 days

  • Milk:
    Not approved for use in lactating animals producing milk for human consumption.


Special Warnings

  • Avoid overdosing.

  • Use appropriate injection technique to prevent tissue irritation.

  • Observe proper parasite control programs to minimize resistance development.


Storage Conditions

  • Store below 25°C.

  • Protect from light.

  • Do not freeze.

  • Keep out of reach of children.


Shelf Life

  • 24 months from date of manufacture.

  • Use immediately after first opening.
