Fluoroquinolone antibacterial.
Indications
CIPRONOR® 20 Oral Liquid is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by ciprofloxacin-sensitive organisms, including:
Respiratory tract infections
Enteritis and diarrhea
Colibacillosis
Salmonellosis
Urinary tract infections
Septicemia
Skin and soft tissue infections
Target Species
Poultry
Calves
Sheep
Goats
Camels (according to veterinary judgment)
Mechanism of Action
Ciprofloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, leading to rapid bactericidal activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
Dosage & Administration
For oral administration only.
General dosage:
10–20 mg ciprofloxacin/kg body weight per dayPoultry:
Administer via drinking water for 3–5 consecutive days
📌 Dosage and duration depend on severity and veterinary recommendation.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolones
Not recommended for growing animals unless clearly indicated
Do not use concurrently with other fluoroquinolones
Side Effects
Generally well tolerated
Rare gastrointestinal disturbances
Possible cartilage effects in young animals with prolonged use
Withdrawal Period
