Description

AVINOR IBD-VP2 is an inactivated subunit vaccine containing a high concentration of VP2 protein, which is:

  • Cloned from a wild strain of Infectious Bursal Disease Virus (IBDV)

  • Expressed using E. coli expression system

The vaccine provides a high level of protective VP2 antigen and can be used to:

  • Vaccinate birds at an early age

  • Replace live IBD vaccines

  • Greatly reduce immunosuppression

  • Enhance the immune response and potentiate the performance of other vaccines


Indication

AVINOR IBD-VP2 is indicated for the active immunization of chickens to prevent:

  • Infectious Bursal Disease (IBD / Gumboro disease)


Target Species

  • Chickens

    • Broilers

    • Layers

    • Breeders


Administration and Dosage

Administer by subcutaneous injection in the neck or intramuscular injection.

Dosage

  • Chicks (1–3 weeks of age):
    0.25 ml per bird

  • Breeder chickens:
    Vaccinate 2 weeks before onset of laying
    0.5 ml per bird


Vaccination Program

  • Single vaccination according to age and production type

  • May be integrated into early vaccination programs to replace live IBD vaccines


Method of Use

  1. Allow vaccine to reach room temperature before use

  2. Shake well before and during use

  3. Use sterile syringes and needles

  4. Do not mix with other vaccines or medicinal products


Contraindications

  • Do not vaccinate sick or stressed birds

  • Hypersensitivity to any component of the vaccine


Warnings and Precautions

  • For veterinary use only

  • Vaccinate healthy birds only

  • Avoid freezing

  • Maintain strict biosecurity during vaccination

  • Dispose of empty containers according to regulations


Adverse Reactions

  • Mild and transient local reaction at injection site may occur

  • Reactions usually resolve spontaneously

  • Store at 2–8°C

  • Do not freeze

  • Protect from light

  • As stated on the label when stored under recommended conditions
