Generic Name

Bivalent Inactivated Vaccine of H5 Subtype Reassortant Avian Influenza Virus
(H5N6 H5-Re13 strain + H5N8 H5-Re14 strain)


Description

AVINOR BI-H5 is an inactivated bivalent oil-emulsion vaccine containing reassortant Avian Influenza viruses:

  • H5N6 subtype – H5-Re13 strain

  • H5N8 subtype – H5-Re14 strain

The vaccine is designed to provide effective protection against currently circulating H5 subtype Avian Influenza viruses.


Indication

AVINOR BI-H5 is indicated for the active immunization of poultry to prevent Avian Influenza caused by:

  • H5 subtype Avian Influenza Virus (AIV)

    • Clade 2.3.4.4h

    • Clade 2.3.4.4b

in:

  • Chickens

  • Ducks

  • Geese


Target Species

  • Chickens

  • Ducks

  • Geese


Administration and Dosage

Administer by subcutaneous injection in the neck or intramuscular injection in the chest muscle.

Chickens

  • 2–5 weeks of age:
    0.3 ml per bird

  • Over 5 weeks of age:
    0.5 ml per bird

Ducks and Geese

  • 2–5 weeks of age:
    0.5 ml per bird

  • Over 5 weeks of age:
    1.0 ml per bird


Vaccination Program

  • Single vaccination according to age

  • Booster vaccination may be applied based on local epidemiological conditions and veterinary recommendation


Method of Use

  1. Allow the vaccine to reach room temperature before use

  2. Shake well before and during use to ensure a uniform emulsion

  3. Use sterile syringes and needles

  4. Do not mix with other vaccines or medicinal products


Contraindications

  • Do not vaccinate sick, stressed, or immunocompromised birds

  • Hypersensitivity to any component of the vaccine


Warnings and Precautions

  • For veterinary use only

  • Vaccinate healthy birds only

  • Avoid freezing

  • Follow strict biosecurity measures during vaccination

  • Dispose of empty containers safely


Adverse Reactions

  • Mild and transient swelling at the injection site may occur

  • These reactions usually resolve spontaneously
